From caring for them to making sure they can

GentleTime is a visual day schedule for people with autism or an intellectual disability. The team prepares the day in pictograms; the person sees on a watch or phone what is happening now and what comes next, and follows the day themselves.

Self-direction, autonomy, self-reliance

Not words in a policy document, but what the person does themselves every day.

Self-direction

The person sees their own day, in their own language, and ticks off what is done. Together with their support worker they choose how the day runs: by the clock, step by step or as a checklist.

Autonomy

The watch goes along to work, day services or family, and works without internet. The day carries on without a support worker standing next to them.

Self-reliance

A gentle vibration and a clear picture announce every transition. The reminder comes from the wrist, not from a support worker saying it for the fifth time.

What changes for the person

A fixed daily schedule helps many people, but as long as it hangs on a board in the living room, the support worker is still the one saying it is time. GentleTime moves that role to the person themselves.

  • Seeing what comes next. A pictogram of what is happening now, a clock that counts down and what comes next. Not the whole week at once, just the part that matters right now.
  • Ticking off themselves. On the watch, the phone or in the browser with their own simple sign-in. The team sees it straight away.
  • Structure that fits. What calms one person unsettles another. Per person, or per day, you choose whether the day runs by the clock, goes step by step (the next step only comes after Done, so there is no such thing as late) or is a checklist without times.
  • A heads-up first. Per person you set whether the watch vibrates, plays a sound or gives a warning just before a transition.

What changes for the team

  • One day for everyone. Every support worker sees the same schedule, also after a shift change. A colleague's changes are never lost.
  • An overview of the group. Who is doing what right now and what is still open today, per resident at a glance. That helps at handover.
  • Quick planning. A fixed routine, such as a morning or bedtime routine, goes into the day in one go with a template. Or copy yesterday and change only what is different.
  • A message instead of walking over. Send a short message with a pictogram to the person's watch or phone. It never arrives in the middle of a transition, and you see when it has been read.
  • Changes on the go. With the app for support workers, for iOS and Android, you adjust a day even when you are not at a computer.
  • Everyone in their own language. Support worker and person can each use their own language: English, Dutch, German, French or Spanish.

Safe with the data of the people you support

Care organisations want to know where data is kept and who can see it. In short:

  • Stored in the EU, with Google Cloud and MongoDB Atlas. Connections and storage are encrypted, and every organisation is fully separated from the others.
  • Only what is needed. Data is never sold, never shared and never used to train AI.
  • Consent first. Features that use health data stay off until explicit consent has been given (GDPR article 9).
  • Delete it yourself. You delete the data of one person, or of the whole organisation, yourself, with one button.
  • Data processing agreement. Our data processing agreement is ready. See also the privacy policy.

Who it is for

GentleTime is used in supported living, day services and community support: wherever a team prepares the day for several people at once. The person can be a child, a teenager or an adult. The pictograms are clear and age-neutral.

If a watch does not suit someone, they follow the day in the app on their own phone or tablet, or in the browser.

What does it cost?

For teams there are three plans: Small Team for up to 8 people, Care Team for up to 15 and Facility for up to 50, all with unlimited support workers. See the pricing. For larger organisations we make a custom offer. Get in touch for an introduction or a demo at your location.

GentleTime is a tool for structure in the day. It is not a medical device and does not replace support from people who know the person.

Frequently asked questions

How does GentleTime support self-direction?

The person sees their own day and ticks off what is done, on a watch, a phone or in the browser. Together with their support worker they choose how the day runs: by the clock, step by step or as a checklist. That way the person decides more themselves, within a structure that suits them.

Does every person need a smartwatch?

No. An Apple Watch or Wear OS watch works best for reminders on the wrist, but the day can also be followed on their own phone or tablet, or in the browser with their own simple sign-in.

Can the whole team work in it?

Yes. With the team plans you work with as many support workers as you like, each with their own sign-in. Everyone sees the same schedule and an overview of the whole group.

Where is the data stored?

In the EU, with Google Cloud and MongoDB Atlas, encrypted and separated per organisation. A data processing agreement is ready.

Can we try it first?

Yes. You can try it free for 14 days, without a credit card. Rather see a demo first? Get in touch and we will show you.
